Behind the scenes

Behind the scenes

Creating pieces of metal art is such a blessing for me.  I enjoy every step of the process.  And by process I mean, from creation of the cut file to cutting the piece, grinding the piece and prepping it for paint if needed.  To create a piece that I know will last for many, many years is one of the most rewarding experiences.  What's even better is to have an idea, draw it out, create a file, cut the file and get it ready to share online is wonderful but when someone actually likes it and places an order, well, I have to admit, it's a feeling that  I can't explain.  To know that someone likes what I have created is what it's all about for me.

Some don't realize that's it's just not about cutting a piece, it's about grinding the piece to be smooth, it's about washing the piece to make sure it's ready for paint, etc.  It's about painting it perfectly with no runs or bubbles, no uneven paint lines, etc.  There is so much that goes into one piece.

Below is a video of the grinding process.  I am a perfectionist when it comes to my work.  I get that honest from both of my parents.  My work represents me.  It's me in each piece and I want only the best for my customers.  When I'm in my shop I am in "my" element...my own world.  So excuse the loud music but again, that's me.  I will listen to rock, country, beach music/Motown and even classical while working.  And it's usually pretty loud.  ;)  But I'm enjoying it and I'm so blessed to be able to do what I do.  The video is pretty long but you'll get a great idea of what goes into making your special piece.  And this is just the grinding process.

Thank you for stopping by and come back soon!
